In 2009, as our team was searching for nickel, we stumbled upon a lithium deposit unlike any other in the world. Convinced of lithium's huge potential for the nascent transport electrification and energy storage industries, Nemaska Lithium undertook to create the largest lithium project in North America, right here, at home.
Facilitating access to green energy
Facilitating access to green energy for the benefit of humanity quickly became the company's vision for the future, driven by its values of pushing the boundaries, commitment3, accountability and cleverness. Nemaska Lithium designed a 100% home-grown Québec project that has already drawn attention from around the world for its leadership in sustainable and social development.
After demonstrating the quality of its processes and securing the necessary financing, Nemaska Lithium is preparing for the next step forward: the construction and commissioning of its commercial facilities at the Whabouchi mine and the Shawinigan plant.

- CAD 50 million in financing to continue engineering and construction work at the Whabouchi mine
